<p>So, I am looking forward to moving on to Atkins next week. I know I will feel a little tired from the carbs, but I am anxious for a change. I have a race on Monday in Chattanooga, TN. I am a little worried about the Labor Day weekend though I have 1 Free day on Body FOr Life and then I will have the transition day from Body For Life to Atkins. Normally that is more than enough pigging put for me, but I have a lot of people wanting to hang out this weekend and sometimes that means big feasting and that can be pretty tempting. I will do my best to be strong. I want to hit Atkins strong next week and try to hit 175 pounds by October 12th.</p>

<p>I should not complain about the 183. I was 183 yesterday and it was technically my 3rd &#8220;Free Day&#8221;. I ate what I wanted, but not AS MUCH as I wanted meaning I tried to stick to about the same 1800-1900 calories I just chose foods that were technically &#8220;unauthorizesd&#8221; on the Body For Life Diet.</p>
<p>I am just ready to be done with this diet now. I feel like I am wasting weight loss time. Then again, I am pretty much enjoying the food and I am definitely enjoying the work out. This morning was weight training. I will run tomorrow.</p>
<p>Starting next week, I will move to the Atkins diet. I should make up some ground there. My goal is 175 by OCtober 12th.</p>
<p>Today I have eaten:</p>
<ul>
<li>3 scrambled eggs and one piece of high fiber toast with peanut butter (breakfast)</li>
<li>1/2 a myoplex bar (snack)</li>
<li>grilled chicken, sushi, broccoli and green beans (lunch)</li>
<li>1/2 a myoplex bar (snack)</li>
</ul>
<p>I haven&#8217;t planned dinner or my late night snack yet. We&#8217;ll see how it goes.</p>

<p>Feeling a whole lot better today. I should mention that it has nothing to do with the diet ( I don&#8217;t think).</p>
<p>Today I am doing something different. I am eating more calories at meals, and small snacks between. Still trying to keep it around 1800 for the day, but instead of 6 x 300 calories, I am eating 4-500 calories at a meal and then 100-150 calorie snacks. I think I am feeling full longer that way.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t think I will be working out today. I am still really run down from having step throat. I will target running tomorrow, but if I am not feeling up to it then I will skip and pick it up Monday. I don&#8217;t want to rush myself back and end up keeping myself sick so I will make sure I have recuperated before I jump back into the workout.</p>
<p>Today&#8217;s food has been as follows:</p>
<ul>
<li>oatmeal with whey powder, high fiber toast with peanut butter (breakfast)</li>
<li>high fiber granola bar (snack)</li>
<li>cheerios with skim milk (lunch)</li>
</ul>
<p>I will hunt up a snack in a while. I don&#8217;t know what I have planned for later in the day yet.</p>
<p>Snacks were yogurt and cereal. DInner was oatmeal and the late night snack was cereal. Starting to feel better. I am waaayy low on vegetables. I need to work on that.</p>

<p>So, I am up a little today. I am not concerned. I have pretty much concluded that Body For Life is a great workout plan and a good weight maintenance plan, but not much of a weight loss plan <em>for me. </em>As I have mentioned a few times, different diets work differently for different people so if it appeals to you, then try it. I love the Myoplex supplements and I think the workout is awesome. I will not recommend it as a great weight loss plan. I will still stick with it through the end of the month and then on to something else.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t know how many other blogs people might read, but I want to recommend one. <a target="_blank" href="http://sethgodin.typepad.com/">Seth Godin has a great blog</a>.</p>
<p>I love Seth&#8217;s blog and his books, which is odd since I am not a marketer in any way. I read something on his blog that resonated with me and that was where he stated that a blogger should detail what conflicts of interest may exist in his or her blogging. I think that is good advice.</p>
<p>you will notice I do not advertise on the site. I occasionally put a link out to a cafepress site where I designed some goofy shirts. That is more for laughs than trying to generate massive sales from the site. I recommend products occasionally, but these are products I try and think people might like. I also will post a negative comment about something I have tried and found to be detrimental to weight loss efforts. Every diet I choose is based solely on whether I think it is interesting, relevant and appealing. I then post comments based on my experiences with the caveat that someone elses experience might be different.</p>
<p>Things I do shamelessly promote that I love regardless of others opinions: The Tennessee Titans, The Atlanta Falcons, Arena Football, The NFL, Various 5K road races, Star Wars.</p>
<p>I will post comments on books because I read a lot and like to share my thoughts. I also will post info about races I run since it is fun to exercise, I want to motivate people to run and then runs are usually in support of a good charitable cause.</p>
<p>So, that is the source of most of my posts. I don&#8217;t think there is a huge conflict of interest in much of that, but I wanted to disclose all of my reasons for posting what I do.</p>
<p>Oh yeah, despite a case of strep throat I am sticking with the diet today though my exercise will be limited since I feel like I am somewhere between roadkill and random detritus. Today I have eaten Oatmeal for breakfast, a myoplex bar for a snack. I don&#8217;t know what I will do for lunch and beyond.</p>
<p>SO the rest of the day went like this:</p>
<p>Oatmeal for breakfast and dinner. Myoplex bar for a snack. Popcorn and peanuts for a late night snack during football. I think I did pretty good. We will see tomorrow. I haven&#8217;t had as much water as I should have. It doesn&#8217;t feel too great on the throat, but I have had a lot of lemonade. I think tomorrow I am going to try somethinga little different. I think rather than 6 x 300 calorie meals, I might try 3 x 500 and 3 x 100. I am getting pretty hungry between meals and it is causing me to eat more tiny meals and I think by the end of the day I have accumulated too many calories. We&#8217;ll see. I am losing faith in Body For Life as a weight loss plan and I am looking forward to Atkins next month.</p>

<p>So I added a Myoplex bar for a snack and then went to the Doctor. It&#8217;s been confirmed as strep-freakin-throat. Yuck. For lunch I had a &#8220;no-sugar-added-vanilla-ice cream with skim milk milkshake&#8221;. It felt good on my throat.</p>
<p>We&#8217;ll see how the rest of the day goes. Mainly I am laying about sipping hot coffee and/or tea and feeling sorry for myself.</p>
