Just laying around waiting for Hurricane Hannah to hit NC. I am happy with the weight drop I have seen thus far. Opponents of low carb dieting would say it is all water weight, but I am not so sure. I have gotten pretty good about staying hydrated and thus not retaining a lot of water. In any event, it is making trips to the scale very rewarding.
Today’s food looks like this:
- scrambled eggs, canadian bacon and coffee (no sweetener) for breakfast - 280 calories, 3 carbs
- carb free milk substitue with whey powder protein for snack#1Â - 200 calories, 3 carbs
- grilled chicken salad with spritzer dressing, 5 olives and one piece of string cheese with diet soda for lunch (350 calories and 6 carbs)
- 5 olives and a piece of string cheese and a diet soda for snack #2 - 200 calories and 2 carbs
So by dinner, my subtotal will be 1030 calories and 14 carbs
I am not sure how dinner will look, but I am thinking grilled chicken with vanilla ricotta creme for desert and then 2 pieces of string cheese and a diet soda during the football game. That should keep me in pretty good shape around the 20-24 carb range for the day. I struggled out of bed at 0530 this morning for my 5 mile run so I should be pretty good today. 3 days in and still feeling good. I was a worried about the energy drop that seems common with low carb dieting, but so far, so good.
