Didn’t weigh today. I was afraid of it after my beach weekend. I did stay on The Zone pretty well through the weekend with the exception of Saturday night at the post-race party for the historic Beaufort Road Race.
The post-race party had ice cream, seafood and margaritas aplenty. And I was in the mood to celebrate after posting my new PR (personal record) of 28:05. The results haven’t been posted yet, but I was focused in pretty closely on the clock as a I crossed the finish line.
Then we had a day at the beach, got sunburned and swam in the surf. All-in-all it was a good weekend and I don’t think I blew the diet too badly.
I am back on strictly today and I will weigh tomorrow to see where I am.
Today my diet looks like this:
- Zone smoothie (breakfast)
- 1/2 Zone bar for snack
- ham and turkey sandwich on wheat bread (lunch)
- grapes (lunch)
- almonds (lunch)
- the second 1/2 of my zone bar for an afternoon snack
Don’t know about dinner yet. We’ll see what happens. I am planning to swim at lunch and the hit the weights this afternoon.
Dinner was a Zone Smoothie. I swam 500 meters at lunch (not continuously yet - I am not there). I swam 50 meters x 3 with 30 second breaks in between. Then tonight I did my weights. I had a zone bar in two halves as 2 snacks. So, a good day on The Zone. I am feeling really good about my PR in the race over the weekend. We’ll see what the weight looks like tomorrow.
