The Zone Diet, Day 16

It is awesome to see 185. That was my original goal back in December which I later amended to 175. I still want to get to the 175 goal. Actually, now my goal is a bit more wordy than just a number. If I were to pick a weight, then I want to get to the range of 170-175. Then I will reassess and see if I want to shoot for the 160’s. Now, I might discard the weight number entirely if I could get to a lower body fat percentage but keep the weight up. So, for example, if I got “stuck” at 180 pounds, but got my body fat in the 10-15% range, then I would be thrilled. So, it is a bit of an evolving goal at this point, but for brevity’s sake my next weight goal is 175.

Today I have eaten:

  • Zone smoothie (breakfast)

My mid-morning snack will be one-half of a Zone bar (the larger size. NOt the snack size. That’s why I am cutting it in half).

Lunch is a ham and turkey sandwich on whole grain bread, grapes, peanuts.

I will swim at lunch and I will do weights tonight. I ran last night. My sore knee is starting to be less sore. I have a race in Beaufort, NC on Saturday. After that I plan to take a week off running and replace it with swimming for the week. (Call it cross training) and just let all of my aches and pains rest and recuperate and then jump back on the run the week of the 28th.

I made the swim and I did my weight training. FOr dinner I had

  • Zone Smoothie
  • Zone snack bar (as 2 snacks: one after dinner and one before bed).
