Well, one more day on the SBD! Then on to Slim Fast!
Tomorrow is also the Cary Distance Festival in Cary, NC. I will be running. I have a nasty sore throat right now, but I won’t let that stop me unless I get a heckuva lot worse. I am targeting a PR (personal record) of less than 33:24, which is probably a laughable number to “real” runners, but it is my personal best to date so I am hoping to get a little better than that.
Here is a success to share. I have a pair of pants that I bought in 2005. I bought two pairs at the same time, both corduroy (no comment on style please, I like cords). I bought one of a larger size (I can’t bring myself to discuss waist size yet) and one at a smaller size. The smaller size pants stayed in my closet. I was right on the cusp of them fitting, but I was on the way up, not down and they were soon beyond reach. I kept them though, saying I would wear them sometime. Now typically, I am a big proponent of getting rid of clothes you haven’t worn in at least a year and I have pretty much always done that, except for these blue cords. So, anyway, I am wearing them now. I have worn them twice this week and they are actually loose! I am pretty fired up about it. To anyone who has ever struggled with weight, the scale is the enemy and body fat percentages are just depressing, but getting into a smaller size of pants (comfortably) and, for men, there is no greater joy than gaining ground in belt holes. I have gained two thus far!
Allright, enough of that…
Today I have eaten:
- oatmeal (not instant) with I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and Splenda
- 1 cup of skim milk
- 3 cups of coffee with non-dairy creamer and Splenda (one more than normal, but I mentioned the sore throat?)
- some altoids
- Half of a small pack of peanuts
- diet soda
- Mogolian chicken, chicken on a stick, grilled chicken and black pepper chicken (small portion)
- A lot of diet soda
- coffee with non dairy creamer and Splenda
- hot tea with Splenda
- three non fat beef hot dogs
- no fat, sugar free pudding
Well, I found out I have strep throat today! Yuck! I got a shot of Penicillin so I should be good to go for the run tommorow!
