Diet Principle #3

February 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

trinity-baptist-church-9-07001.JPG Diet Principle #3 is less of a requirement and more of just a good idea. It is something I have noticed to provide optimum weight loss, at least as pertains to my physiology.

As always, I should add the disclaimer that I am not a nutritionist, personal trainer, doctor or anything like that. I’m not even particularly lean or in peak physical condition (I am working on the last 2 though).

Anyway, I noticed that when I crammed both my cardio and weight training on one day and then had the next day off, a number of things happened. My weight loss was slowed without some sort of rigorous activity everyday. In addition, the day I did both workouts left me extremely tired and the result was that I was getting burned out pretty quickly.

Thus, this diet principle builds on diet principle #2 which says that for the best results, you will have diet + exercise and not just one or the other.

Diet Principle #3 - exercise should be spread out enough so that there is some activity every day, or most days and not days of peak activity followed by days of relative inactivity.

Having said that, of course, no one should get discouraged if they cannot find time to be active everyday. The key thing to remember is that any activity is better than none. So if you can’t make the every-day commitment, make some commitment. It can be every other day, every three days or once a week. You will see benefits of whatever level of activity you can commit to.
