Yay! Last day on the low calorie diet. I will be moving on to the South Beach diet starting tomorrow. Of course I have two hurdles right away. I am going out with “the guys” tomorrow night and I am certain that wings and beer will ensure. Then, of course, the Superbowl (you can see I am sporting my Giants jersey). I won’t even try to diet during the big game. Of course, that is part of my experiment, testing these diets against real life. I suppose my life is as “real” as anyone’s.
Thus far today I have eaten;
- 2 bowls of cheerios with skim milk - 400 calories (no more of these on the South Beach diet)
- Coffee during the day with creamer - 120 calories from the creamer (I will have to cut back on these during South Beach. I will probably drop the creamer all together. I just can’t drop the caffeine entirely, but I can cut back)
- Chef Boyardee Ravioli - 460 calories
So I am at 980 for the day thus far. I am going out for dinner tonight so I will try and be good.
I ran at lunch, but only 2.5 miles. My legs were KILLING me. I thought shin splints, but there is no point tenderness. It is more muscular. That was when I remembered that I have had flat feet for oh…my whole life. I think the arch support in my running shoes is about gone (though I only have about 200 miles on this pair of shoes - I am not a light fella to be pounding on the shoe’s arches). I am going to try some inserts first. If that doesn’t work, I will try some new shoes.
 For the rest of the day I added:
- 2 bowls of Cheerios - 400 calories
- Some unknown casserole thing at a dinner party and a dinner roll. I am guessing about -900 calories for the whole plate.
That puts me at 2280 for the day. South Beach starts in the morning.
